I came across this great article from Forbes today, originally published a few weeks ago, about how Instagram is the hot new spot for organic book marketing. I've definitely bought books after seeing them on Instagram, and they've never been from paid ads—just people I follow who recommend things from time to time. This quote really resonated with me:

Instagram might be one of the safest places on the Internet these days if you want to avoid the difficult news and vitriol that dominates most other digital content. And at the end of the day, word of mouth is still what sells books, advice from friends and friends of friends. Instagram, feels the closest to that of all the social networks.

”While someone is scrolling through looking at a picture of their friend’s weekend at a wedding, they are also seeing a new watch from an indie company and a book that may be perfect for their upcoming vacation,” said Megan Gardner of Books and Polka Dots.
